Seriously, where did this summer go? I can’t and refuse to believe that it is already Labor Day Weekend. If feels like just yesterday that I was gearing up for my college graduation and planning a few weekend getaways. But, when the temperatures begin to cool off and you start adding ‘chunky knits’ into your online shopping carts (like I just did this morning!), you know it’s real. This time of year also means that there will be some amazing Labor Day sales to shop.
Normally at this time of the year, my feelings about the upcoming weeks would be very different. I would have felt a wave of sadness (that my free time was now ripped from me) and stress comes over my body, as I would normally be anticipating another school year and another semester of college. But this year is very different. This was the first summer in a long time where I could just take a breather from the thoughts of planning the perfect college schedule, making sure that I was fulfilling all of my course requirements and sitting in a college classroom for hours upon hours a day. No, not this year. This year is now the time that I can focus on my business, my blog, explore my passions and hopefully attend more NYFW events! In the past, I was never able to attend most of the shows that I was so fortunate enough to be invited to because my college schedule would always somehow get in the way. I am excited for this new chapter in my life and I still can’t believe it’s finally here. I worked insanely hard during my 4 years at Fordham University and balancing my classes and Liv For Luxury was not a walk in the park. I am proud of my accomplishments and graduating as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and receiving Magna Cum Laude is something that will always remind me of my hard work at Fordham.
But enough about me, back to the Labor Day weekend sales! There are some really good ones this year and I decided to round up my favorites below! I hope everyone has a happy Labor Day and enjoys the long weekend!
DERMSTORE: 20% off sitewide w/ code LONGWKND.This is actually one of my absolute favorite websites for all things skincare and beauty. They have a great selection of products, like the famous beauty blender and this Mason Pearson hairbrush. My grandma just got me one of these brushes and I cannot tell you want a difference it makes. Brushing my hair is easier and I feel like it’s helped strengthen my hair.
Liv Micheli is the creator of the New York based fashion, beauty, and lifestyle blog, Liv For Luxury. With a background in communication from Fordham University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Liv has acquired the essential tools of journalism, marketing, and digital media and coupled that with her love for fashion and beauty to create a lifestyle site that documents the business of personal fashion, beauty & lifestyle. During college and shortly after, Liv worked for major brands like Ralph Lauren and Club Monaco, but her innate instincts toward fashion started at a young age. Growing up, Liv always loved fashion and enjoyed shopping with her mother, but for Liv, it wasn’t so much about consumption. It was the hunt for rare finds and unique pieces that Liv knew she was going to be able to style in several different ways. As time went on, strangers began stopping Liv on the streets to ask where she had bought a particular clothing item, which was the catalyst that inspired her to create her blog, Liv For Luxury.

Wearing: Nasty Gal Slip Dress | Nasty Gal Crop Tee | Fallon Jewelry Choker | Topshop Mules Slip Dress / Tee The inspo behind this look came from the model off duty moments I found when scrolling through street style sites. 90’s style is trending hard these days, from high-waisted “mom jeans”, to bodysuits and my all-time favorites – chokers and slip dresses. The best way to get in on this seasons coolest looks? Taking a silk slip, or evening esqué dress like so and pairing it with a cropped white tee. It’s a casual and elevated take on the era’s most famous style. These timeless and easy pieces, the white t-shirt and black spaghetti-strap slip, go together like peanut butter and jelly. Both separates are so simple, however, what you accessorize with will really define the look. I went for a more edgy route and styled these pieces with…
