Happy Spring and welcome to the Liv For Luxury: Spring to Summer 6 Week Wellness Challenge #LFLWellness6. Summer is almost upon us, just a few short weeks away – 6 weeks to be exact. It’s hard to believe this since the weather in NY is not corresponding with the time of year, but April is THE month to start setting goals, taking action and putting your best foot forward into Summer. Coming off of a long birthday week, I’m sure you can imagine how many delicious dinners, brunches and slices of birthday cake I’ve indulged in over the past few days. But now, it’s time to kick things into gear because yesterday marked the one-month countdown to get in shape before the unofficial start of summer. It may not seem like much time, but with my help and advice from industry professionals, we will keep you motivated, moving and having you feeling like the best version of yourself in the next six weeks.
I’ve been very excited to share this series, because health, food, and fitness are all aspects of my life that I am incredibly passionate about. Food was one of my first loves, and over the past two years, and after hours of research, I’ve learned about the power of food and the impact it has on my body, skin, mood and overall appearance. Fitness and staying active follows the close second, as I enjoy taking 30 minutes-1 hour a day as a time to de-stress, bond with my family and work hard to achieve my fitness goals. Now, I know that everyone’s wellness journey is different, but my primary focus is to have us all take away a bit of inspiration and information to help you feeling and looking like the best version of yourself, and to create new habits that are realistic that will contribute to living and leading a better life. What is the #LFLWellness6 Challenge?
Every week we’ll focus on a new health and wellness topic leading up to Memorial Day Weekend. Throughout the six weeks, these are the main topics that I plan to cover: fitness – my workout regime, my relationship with Crossfit and talking about ways in which you can reach your fitness goals. Nutrition – what I eat on a daily basis, my favorite pre and post workout snacks/meals, sharing my go-to clean-eating recipes, learning what ‘macros’ are and how to count them. Beauty- I’ll talk about my favorite skincare products to achieve healthy and glowing skin, and the appropriate products to add to your regime for the spring and summer months. Style – I’ll be sharing my favorite workout gear, from sports bras to sneakers to my favorite brands and styles. I’ll also be sharing my favorite pieces to pack for your MDW trips, the ultimate bikinis and my favorite sales to shop. This week we will be focusing on fitness and setting some achievable goals for yourself to try and hit by the end of this six-week series. Every week we will build upon the practices and achievements we accomplish.
Throughout this month, I’ll be sharing new topics every week to help get you motivated and feeling your best for MDW. This week’s challenge: Set Goals!
This sounds easy enough, right? My fitness goals have been apparent to me every since I consistently started to set aside time during the day to do some physical activity. But, it took time for me to realize what those goals were and to come up with a plan!
My Goals
I work out to keep my mind, body, and spirit centered, to be strong and be able to see improvements and build upon the previous day of hard work. I plan to use these six weeks to become a better athlete and to improve on my form for some challenging Olympic lifts. I want to become a better runner, improve my aerobic capacity and consistently see improvements within myself – physically and mentally.
Writing Down Your Own Goals
I know that some of you may be new to exercise or coming off of a long break, so taking the time to write down your fitness and health goals can be very beneficial! I highly encourage you to set goals for yourself because it gives you a mission and purpose. Goals keep you motivated in times when you may lack it, they will keep you moving and pushing to reach those goals. Something that I recently learned, regarding setting yourself up for success when setting goals, is to make sure you ask yourself the right questions and come up with a plan of action. This is something that I am still working on, in both my professional and personal life, but it has proven to be extremely helpful when put into action. I created this worksheet below, to help you visualize all of your goals and the steps you need to take to get there. Writing things down on paper always helps me see things more clearly, which is why I would love for all of you to save this worksheet to your desktop and print it out! Fill in your goals and leave this sheet out to remind yourself of the actions that need to be taken to get to accomplish those goals! I’ve also included some of my favorite journals and planners down below!Looking for some #Goals Inspiration?
Do you need help thinking about what some of your goals might be? Well, maybe you want to feel better and increase your energy? Perhaps you want to lose a few pounds that you’ve been carrying around with you all winter? Or you may want to try cutting out certain foods, which you think may be affecting your fitness journey? Possibly drink more water throughout the day? Do you want to meditate, but you’re not sure where to start? Looking for a better night’s sleep? It might be that you are looking to add to your pre-existing knowledge about fitness, and nutrition? Or you’re intrigued to learn more about my regime and want to spice up your own fitness routine? Whatever it may be, I highly suggest setting some realistic goals that you can work towards for the next 40 days. We don’t have to start with anything too big. This is about you and your journey.
