Dressed

Getting all dressed for a Saturday night out on the town is one of my favorite things, especially when you have dinner plans at a new restaurant that you’ve been dying to try! As I mentioned in this post, I had big plans to celebrate my #birthdayweek with my family, friends and with a lot of delicious food! Saturday marked the 3rd day of birthday celebrations with my family, and we decided to take a drive to my favorite town in Connecticut. Spring was in the air this past weekend, and mother nature was definitely on my side. Temperatures went up to 70 degrees, and it was the perfect opportunity to wear the new dress that I received as a present for my birthday. My mother has a talent for finding the cutest pieces, so it was no surprise when I opened one of my birthday gifts and saw this re:named floral dress inside! I’d like to think I got my knack for finding unique pieces from my mom!

I love getting all dolled up in a new dress and going a little extra for dinner like I did this weekend with this floral mini dress, this wicker bag, and my new favorite dusty rose sandals. Because, why not? This dress has such a simple and understated silhouette, yet the vintage-inspired floral print and the prairie style detailing can quickly take you from a casual daytime look to a Saturday night birthday celebration-or any occasion for that matter! This print is so sweet and it also comes in a top version, which would be so cute to wear with jeans and slides. These sandals are a recent favorite find, as they are the perfect neutral shade to wear with so many different pieces. I featured them in ‘My 10 Favorite Shoes For Spring” post, and so many of you loved them. You can’t beat the color and the fact that they are under $100 from Nordstrom!

One of my favorite places to walk around is the quaint little town of Westport because it’s unlike any of the other New England towns. There is something unique about Westport, with its charm, sophisticated shopping and riverside dining. Whenever I’m there, I feel serene and almost as if I am exploring a new destination while on vacation! It’s a beautiful spot to take in the gorgeous views of the Long Island Sound and enjoy the fresh farm to table, Italian and American cuisine that the town has to offer. I love walking down Main Street before grabbing a bite to eat, especially in breezy spring weather.

During a previous trip to Westport, my mother and I stumbled upon a cozy little dinner spot located in the heart of Downtown Westport. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to try Amis and this weekend felt like the perfect opportunity. Every dish uses simple and time-tested techniques to prepare family recipes. At Amis Trattoria, they always use seasonal ingredients, and carefully select every ingredient to offer home-style cuisine that is fresh, balanced and robust. Italian is without a doubt my favorite food, so when I saw this menu I wanted to order everything!

On Saturday we ordered a few appetizers for the table and had the opportunity to try a little bit of everything. I loved the ‘Eggplant Caponata,’ the ‘Local CT Burrata’ with pears, hazelnut, and drizzled honey and the ‘Antipasto Plate’ which features cured Italian meats, cheeses, olives and roasted red peppers. We also ordered the Kale Caesar, which had a light Caesar dressing and homemade croutons – delicious! The atmosphere was lively, and the food was spectacular. My stomach is growling just thinking about it! Amis Trattoria is definitely on the top of my list of restaurants to try in the New England area! Amis also has 2 additional locations in Philadelphia, and are opening up a third location in August. I had such a lovely evening with my family and finished off the dinner with a slice of their scrumptious Tiramisu. I wanted to thank all of you for the sweet birthday wishes all weekend. Your messages made me feel so special, and I cannot thank you enough!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Love,

Liv xx
