My Nike sneaker collection keeps growing and one of my new additions are the Nike Cortez. The OG Nike Cortez made its debut during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany. They are an unmistakable icon, worn by Team USA, as the first track shoe designed by the Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman. The silhouette has been redesigned over the years, but this year was the 45th anniversary of the Cortez. It is an iconic sneaker that I needed to get my hands on, and the anniversary edition was the perfect fit. If they’re good enough for Forest, they are good enough for me!

These OG Nikes are truly a timeless piece that can be dressed up or down and I have been wearing them on repeat all summer. Comfortable, classic, cool and fresh. I love them so much that I even got a pair of black and white. I chose to style them simply with a cropped white tee and a pair of track-pant inspired wide leg pants. The red stripe down the side felt very street-style inspired and I loved the edgy quality they gave to the overall look.
