If I had to name a few of my favorite pieces in my closet right now, this gingham duster that I am wearing in todays blog post would be at the top of my list. Aside from the fact that I am addicted to layering pieces or toppers that add the ‘wow’ factor to your overall look, the reason why I’ve been wearing this piece on repeat is because of the combination of the retro inspired checked print (of course), the oversized fit, the slit back and the tie sleeve detailing. I love the length of this duster and the oversized, yet slightly feminine silhouette. The black and white pairing is really what made this look stand out, because the print is such a bold, yet timeless statement.
A duster or trench coat is the perfect piece to help transition your wardrobe into spring. I’ve had this duster in my wardrobe for a couple of weeks and I’ve constantly been paring in it with a bunch of different looks. My favorite way to style a trench is with a distressed cropped pair of denim and a classic high-heeled bootie. I chose to go for a more edgy look and style this trench with a mesh turtleneck, but you could go for a more relaxed look a pair it with a simple white tee! No matter what I decide to wear with this duster, it always manages to elevate my look and take it to the next level. It adds a touch of drama to the simplest looks, and who doesn’t want that in a piece of outerwear!
