Suede Skirts, Striped Shirts, and Straw Hats
As spring and summer approaches (I know spring is already here, but the weather in NY says otherwise…) I started to consider some of this season’s style. Everywhere I look, there are stripes, stripes and more stripes. Whether they are super sized stripes, vertical, horizontal, or a mix-match of all three, this is a style that I live for. ‘The stripe’ is a simple concept, but aren’t the simplest ideas always the best? Rather then pairing a simple white t-shirt with this 70’s inspired suede wrap skirt, (which would also be a more casual way to style the skirt), I wanted to add an interesting element to the overall look – and that is just what this v-neck striped shirt accomplished. If I’m going to wear navy stripes, I almost always like to mix in light brown tones because the colors just compliment each other so well.
Suede is becoming my new denim – I just love the added texture and the way it elevates a look. The classic wrap silhouette and cinched at the waist adjustable belt creates clean lines and the 70’s inspired front patch pockets add an element of sleekness. I went with a simple suede heel and added my new Janessa Leone Hat as a finishing touch. I can’t wait to bring this hat with me on my summer adventures I get myself into!
